How Vertically Integrated Tequila Production Benefits Your Business

In the world of tequila production, product quality, consistency, dependable supply and secure financial margins all depend on the successfully management of a complex interaction of factors – agriculture, processing, distillation and logistics.

Destilería Arquero is a farm-to-factory tequila producer. We take pride in having total control over the entire process, from harvesting agave grown in our own farms to the expert formulation and distillation that takes place in our state-of-the-art factory. Our end-to-end operation enables us to meet our customers’ specific product and supply chain requirements at a competitive price point.

Developing a vertically integrated operation requires a level of scale, sophistication and investment in technology that is unusual outside of the largest tequila houses. Taking this approach enables us to sequentially compound efficiencies without compromising to any single part of the process.

Here is how we build efficiency and excellence into each stage of our tequila production:

  1. Stable Supply of High-Quality Agave

Unlike many distillers who rely on fluctuating external agave suppliers, we own and manage 100 agave farms with more than 4 millions plans. Control over our primary raw material means we are cushioned against the volatility of the agave market, ensuring a steady and predictable supply for our distillery.

  1. Total Quality Control

One of the key advantages of vertical integration is our ability to consistently maintain quality and flavor. Every batch of agave is grown, nurtured and harvested under our strict supervision. From the soil composition to the time of harvest, we have complete oversight of all the variables that influence the flavor profile and quality of the agave. This allows us to deliver the same superior quality with each production run, eliminating the variability that can arise when sourcing from third-party suppliers.

  1. Caring for Our Land and People

Maintaining healthy soil and respecting the biosphere is crucial to agave agriculture. We follow regenerative farming practices that avoid harmful chemicals, preserve soil health, and actively contribute to environmental sustainability. Arquero is also Fair Trade certified, which ensures ethical working conditions, fair pay, and funding for social and economic development. Respect for our lands and our people leads to a cycle of expertise and stability, that in turn results in stable and efficient operations.

  1. Advanced Factory Capabilities

Our state-of-the-art distillery allows us to fine-tune every aspect of the tequila production process. We’ve invested in automation to increase precision, reduce wastage, and reduce energy consumption. We have the ability to almost infinitely adjust formulations based on customer specifications – whether it’s altering the flavor profile, alcohol by volume (ABV), or production volume. This inherent flexibility means our customers receive exactly what they want, on schedule, and at a price that suits their business model.

  1. Visibility and Control From Start to Finish

From the time a customer places an order to the moment the tequila is shipped, every step is managed in-house. This oversight means we can identify and address potential issues early, from errant weather conditions affecting our agave fields to precision equipment adjustments needed during distillation. Proactive problem-solving prevents small problems snowballing into supply chain disruptions, ensuring that our products are delivered on time and on budget.

  1. Delivering Value Without Compromise

All these factors come together to offer our customers product consistency and dependability, yet still at a competitive price. By owning every aspect of the process, we eliminate the middlemen, reduce wastage, and optimize production. Our customers benefit from a stable supply of tequila that matches their desired specification, whether they are creating a high-volume value brand, a signature blend for their bar, or a unique private label offering.

Our vertically integrated approach isn’t just about cost savings or efficiency – it’s about crafting a superior product, maintaining control over quality, and ensuring that we can meet our customers’ exact needs time and time again. With a strong foundation built on stable supply, sustainable practices, and total quality control, we deliver tequilas that stand out in taste, consistency, and value.
